Electrical motor brushes are wearing out faster than anticipated and were unlikely to make it to the next overhaul. This is a classic fleet management problem in the railway industry and could result in faults in service or having to bring forward the overhaul program early. Thankfully ExcelWraps brings forth lots of data to help us make good decisions. The 'MyWraps' chart displays the fleet brush length records, the shortest is just 41mm on unit 12. It is easy to work out which units need to come in first for replacement during normal maintenance and completely avoid the chance of a fault in service or bring forward the overhaul program. There is a lot of money saved in having access to information especially when it is immediately available in graphical form.
